Ask to reserve a Cape May beachfront motel at the state's tip

From, for two$5703 nights, two sharing · $285 eachNot included: state and local lodging taxes and beach tags.

At the very southern tip of New Jersey sits Cape May, a town known for its Victorian houses. For three nights we arrange a Cape May beachfront motel with its own front desk, chosen to fit the week you send us. You read one written quote first and decide in your own time.

Beach tags are part of summer here, and the town sells them. We put those local charges in the quote beside the room, so the full picture sits on one page. Your request costs nothing and holds nothing until you answer yes.

A shoreline turned south southeast

Cape May's town beach is turned toward 164 degrees, south southeast. On July 15 the sun rises at 61 degrees. That puts it 104 degrees away from looking straight out, so it climbs off to your left along the shore.

Sunset comes at 299 degrees, behind the beach and over the town. Cape May is one of just two stays in our catalog where the summer sun keeps to the shore rather than rising or setting over the water, which is why it closes our list.

Motel that may lend beach tags

Your room is at a beachfront motel that keeps its own front desk, where you check in and settle the bill. The motel may lend beach tags for stays of 2 or more nights, and the quote lists tags as a local charge either way. The motel's name arrives in your written quote and stays off this website.

June motel rate, beach tags left out

From $570 for two covers 3 nights, or $285 per person. We built it on a June rate of $190 a night for a room for two, with no mandatory nightly fee listed. State and local lodging taxes and beach tags stay outside it; in 2026 a daily tag was $10 and a weekly tag $25 for anyone 12 and older. Fuel, tolls, meals and extras are yours too, and the quote gives the real rate.

Carried in the two-person figure

  • 3 nights in a room for two at the office's working rate for that month
  • Any resort or amenity fee the hotel charges every night
  • The written quote and the request to hold the room

Settled apart from it

  • State and local lodging tax, added by the hotel
  • Fuel and tolls on the drive
  • Meals and anything you buy on the trip
  • Cape May beach tags for anyone 12 and older, unless the motel lends them
  • Parking, where the hotel or the town charges for it

June opens our planning window

June opens our planning window here, and September closes it. Because the figure leans on a June rate, a September week may come back at a different number once the motel names its rate for your dates. Tags are required in season, so plan them into the trip.

Tags and taxes on one written page

One page from us lays out the motel's name, your room, the three nights and the room total with any fee charged to every guest inside. It also lists the taxes the motel will add, the beach tags as a local charge, and the motel's own cancellation terms, which our cancellation terms page explains.

Once you write back yes, our office asks the motel to keep the room in your name. Any card it requests to secure the room goes straight to the motel, never through this site.

From Akron to New Jersey's tip

Measured from Grant Street, Cape May lies 493 miles away, about 9 hr 30 min without traffic according to OSRM. Expect the real drive to take longer once stops and traffic join in. Leaving early gives you the evening at the motel.
